ANKILIBORY, 31 mai 2010 (IRIN) - Dans une toute petite hutte d’Ankilibory, un village du sud de Madagascar, Herintsoa, une adolescente âgée de 16 ans à peine, a récemment mis au monde son deuxième enfant, mais l’accouchement s’est mieux passé que la première fois, lorsqu’elle avait 14 ans. « C’avait été bien plus douloureux. Je l’avais fait moi-même à la maison ; mon mari avait coupé le cordon [ombilical] ».

« Nous voulons 10 enfants », a-t-elle expliqué, imperturbable.

Selon les statistiques officielles, dans certaines régions de Madagascar, 70 pour cent des filles de 16 ans ont déjà donné naissance à leur premier enfant ; mais si les grossesses précoces sont fréquentes sur cette immense île de l’océan Indien, elles ne sont pas pour autant moins dangereuses.
